The Broncos opened up the preseason with a 22-20 win over the Seahawks in Seattle on Friday night. I don't ever get excited about preseason, and I really believe you can't take anything seriously from the preseason, but I'll give you three thoughts on what stood out from the game……
1) Brock Osweiler started in place of Peyton Manning and played the entire first half. He finished 10-15 for 150 yards and a touchdown. I thought overall he looked solid. He made some nice throws and missed on some other ones. It was the most evidence we have seen of him since he was drafted in 2012, and at least you got to see some of his skill set. It was a good night for him.
2) Von Miller and the Broncos pass rush looked impressive. Miller strip sacked Russell Wilson on the second play of the game. Shane Ray was constantly getting pressures, and Shaq Barrett and Kenny Anniuke really stood out at various points in the game.
3) The focus was on the Broncos offensive line and Ty Sambraillo struggled a little bit at times. It was hard to tell how well they were doing because Seattle's first defense was missing some key guys. The group settled down and played well after the first series, but this is going to be an up and down transition for a large part of the preseason and into the first game of the regular season.
