Another Week, Another Shootout Win

Seriously, these shootouts are great for the FOX, CBS, ESPN, and the NFL Network, but they are killing me. The Broncos' 34-32 victory over New Orleans in Week 3 is a combination of thrilling, exciting and troubling to me. The Broncos simply can't stop anyone. No defense can stop Denver. It looks like I am watching an Arena league game every week. I think Denver is looking to set the record for "Most Games Selected for NFL Replay" each week. I'll take it and I'm psyched to be 3-0, but how about a 23-17 game once in a while. Some quick points about this week's game: First, not since 2000 has Denver had such an explosive offense. The Broncos can score points whenever they want from wherever on the field. The Broncos have scored 41, 39, and 34 points in 3 games. They have build 17-0, 21-3, and 21-3 leads in the first half in all of their three games. This offense is becoming a real juggernaut. Secondly, I know their defense is horrible, but build on these positives: The goal line stand near the end of the first half was huge, they stopped the 2 point conversion when the Saints went to tie it up at 34, and they stopped New Orleans on a 3rd and 1 and forced the Grammatica FG attempt, which he promptly missed. Third, a win is a win in the NFL and the Broncos are 3-0 for the first time since 2003. If we can somehow just stop someone please. Next week comes Tyler Thigpen and the Chiefs. That might be the perfect remedy. Please no let down. Go into Arrowhead and take care of business and put the lowly Chiefs away.
