Old Fashioned AFC West Shootout

Denver's thrilling 39-38 victory over San Diego was a throwback to the old classic AFL shootouts. It also had Denver's Invesco Field rocking like a classic 80s Elway comeback game in old Mild High. In one of the most exciting and controversial games of recent memory, Denver just threw its' hat in the AFC West ring. First, the Chargers got screwed. Ed Hoculi blew the fumble call and SD should have taken possession leading 38-31. The bottom line is that you don't give any wins back in the NFL, so from that stand point I don't feel bad at all. Second, Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall are establishing themselves as a top QB-WR duo in the NFL. They have picked up where they left off last season and look unstoppable. Third, Mike Shanahan has balls. This is why I love Shanny. He knew that his defense was shot and couldn't stop the Chargers and he had so much confidence in that offense, that he decided to end the game right there. It was a great call also because SD was so distraught about the fumble and about giving up the touchdown to Royal on 4th and goal. Overall, Sunday's victory was amazing and exciting and it was a throwback to old Bronco victories of the 8os.
